Alma Mills

Alma Frances Mills, 71, of Quinton passed away Friday, March 31, 2017, at Mercy Hospital Fort Smith in Fort Smith, Ark. She was born on May 9, 1945, in Hampton, Va., to Andrew and Virginia (Williamson) Stewart.
Fran married Johnny Mills on March 24, 1963, and they made their home in Hoyt where they started their family. She was a passionate seamstress and quilter. Fran loved spending time working in her garden, especially her flowers. She loved going to the lake for fishing and boating with her family. She was a dedicated friend who loved her friends unconditionally.
Fran is survived by her daughter, Tina Wallis and husband Greg of Poteau; her son, Rodney Mills and wife Michele of San Antonio; eight grandchildren, David, Christie, Tiffany, Brooke, Faith, Lily, Timothy, Dominic and Tyler; six great-grandchildren, Gunnar, Alexis, Kaylee, Sophea, Paisley and Cayston; three sisters, Nancy Woodard, Aris Hall and Alice Nelson; a brother, Jimmie Stewart; and a host of friends.
Fran was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Virginia Stewart; her husband, Johnny Mills; a brother, Andy Stewart; and a sister, Audrey Strock.
Graveside services were held April 3 at Bower Cemetery in Longtown with the Rev. Bill Holcomb officiating.
Burial was under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
Pallbearers were Kevin Butler, David Brady, Blake Parks, Steve Bedford, Jerry Bedford and Fred Bedford.
Honorary pallbearers were Gene Bedford and Michael Eagle.
