John Hugh Dickson Jr.

John Hugh Dickson, Jr. was born in Stigler on May 16, 1927 to John H. Dickson, Sr. and Lois Ann (Hill) Dickson. He passed away in Muskogee on Nov. 10, 2019, at the age of 92.

He is survived by his sons, Jim Bob Dickson and wife, Becky, of Coweta and Richard Dickson and wife, Lea Anne, of Stigler; his grandchildren, Shay Dickson and wife, Lindsay, of Bixby,  Juli Dickson of Eufaula, Billy Joe Dickson and wife, Tiffany, of Stigler and J.T. Dickson and wife, Kelsey, of Stigler; his great-grandchildren, Traden, Barrett, Blair, Tenlee, Wiley, Kate and Beau.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lois Dickson; his wife, Betty Jo (Reavis) Dickson; his son, Johnny Joe Dickson; his brothers, Ed Dickson, Kenneth Hillhouse and Bob Dickson; and his sisters, Sissy Holcomb, Elanor McCory and Becky Hickman.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019, at Main Street Baptist Church in Stigler with the Rev. Jamie Kirkpatrick and the Rev. Henry Kates officiating.  

Viewing was from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Stigler.

Pallbearers were Billy Dickson, J.T. Dickson, Shay Dickson, Traden Anderson, Brian Henderson, Tracy Smith and Barrett Anderson.

Military Honors were by Stigler VFW Post #4446.
