Robert ‘Sonny’ Greenmyer

Robert “Sonny” Lewis Greenmyer, 76, passed away April 8, 2018, in his home in Wagoner. He was born Oct. 24, 1941, to Robert J. Greenmyer and Nell Yost Greenmyer in Keota. He was a 1959 graduate of Keota High School.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Greenmyer, of the home; son, Donny Greenmyer and wife, Rebecca, of Mounds; daughters, Shara Greenmyer of Stigler; Cassie Hunter and Heather Greenmyer; two sisters, June Rose of Keota and Judy Brigance and husband, Ronnie, of McAlester; two brothers, Roger Greenmyer and wife, Kitty, of Keota and Ricky Greenmyer and wife, Sharon, of Stigler; Uncle Neil Yost and wife, Bertha, of Stigler; Aunt Joyce and husband, Cecil Dowell, of San Antonio, Texas. Also, granddaughters Heather Navarro and husband, Anthony, of Sand Springs and Heidi Watson and husband, Kenneth, of Sapulpa; great-grandchildren Becca Watson, KJ Watson, Jayden Watson, Brianna Parsons, Taylor Parsons, and Aiden Navarro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, Robert J. Greenmyer of California and Nell Yost Greenmyer of Keota; grandparents Sam and Cordia Yost of Keota and Uncle Con and Aunt Mirtie Thornburg of Keota.
Sonny worked for Affiliated Foods for more than 20 years. He was a lover of the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting and riding horses. Above all, he loved his family and spending time with them. He will be remembered for his “Sonny” disposition.
A memorial service will be Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in Stigler with Tommy Parker officiating.
Cremation was under the direction of Shipman Funeral Home & Crematory of Wagoner.
