George ‘Chip’ Benton

George Lee “Chip” Benton was born March 10, 1943, in Porum to Emmie Bledsaw and George Benton.
He passed away on Nov. 6, 2017, in Porum at the age of 74.
He is survived by his wife, Winnie Lou Benton of the home; one sister, Barbara Wilkie of Mannford; two brothers, Loyd Benton of Porum and Don Benton of Porum; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Chip was preceded in death by his parents, George and Emmie Benton; six sisters, Billie Corine Brasel, Virdie Pease, Mildred Westhaven, Billie Jean Girty, Ruby Marie Hall and Lois Benton; one brother, Alvie Benton.
Chip enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
Graveside services were held at Fields Cemetery at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017 with the Rev. Wayne Lindsay officiating.
Active pallbearers were Tyre Thomas, Don Stewart, Jimmy Nixon, J.C. Corbell, Ray Dill and Ricky Sparks.
Services entrusted to Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Stigler.
