Treasurer’s office provides drop box for taxpayers

Haskell County Treasurer Gayla Orr stands next to the office’s new drop box on the east side of Haskell County Courthouse. Home and business owners may now submit payment for property taxes 24 hours a day. Orr said the drop box was installed to benefit tax payers who may be unable to make payments during the office’s regular business hours. Taxpayers using the drop box are asked to make payments by check only. A security camera has been installed and activity at the drop box is monitored by Haskell County Sheriff’s Office 24 hours a day. Treasurer’s office personnel will pick up payments from the drop box twice a day. Payments received after 2 p.m. Monday through Friday will be posted on the next day’s date.
