Three injured in collision

Three boys were injured in a single-vehicle collision on Thursday, Oct. 10, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred just before 6:30 p.m. on state Highway 9, about two and a third miles east of Stigler, the report states.
A Chevrolet pick-up was being driven by a 16-year-old. The vehicle was east bound on state Highway 9. The vehicle struck water that was pooled up in the roadway. The vehicle left the road to the right, struck an electric pole and overturned one time before hitting a pipe fence and coming to rest.
The driver was treated and released at a Fort Smith, Ark., hospital.
Two 15-year olds were passengers in the vehicle. They were taken to area hospitals and were admitted in good condition, the report states.
The OHP report states the cause of the collision was due to “unsafe speed for rain/wet roadway.” Seat belts were not in use by any of the occupants.
Since the individuals involved in the collision were juveniles, their names were withheld in the OHP report.
The collision was investigated by trooper Sean Haney of the Haskell/McIntosh detachment. He was assisted by trooper Toby Jenson.
