Stigler Grade School donates bench

Mrs. Wilma Hooten began teaching at Stigler Grade School in August of 1988. She taught reading classes and third grade until her retirement in May 2012. Her 24 years of service to Stigler Public Schools and the impact she had on the hundreds of students she touched, will never be forgotten. Stigler Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) purchased this bench in memory of Mrs. Hooten, who passed away last year. The bench will be used as a buddy bench at Stigler Grade School. Several of her family members and the students and staff of Stigler Grade School dedicated the bench on Friday, Jan. 18.

Dedicating Mrs. Hooton’s bench are Superintendent Monty Guthrie, Kynzi Edwards, Kamron Edwards, Becky Hooten Edwards, Paul Hooten, Kynli Edwards and Stigler Grade School principal, Lana Mayhall.
