Stigler cheerleaders named All-Region, coach named Regional Cheer Coach of the Year

Two Stigler Panther cheerleaders and the cheerleading head coach have received high honors.

Jamie Barnes and Stephanie Dixon have made the All-Region cheer team, and Head Coach Angie Citty has been named Regional Cheer Coach of the Year. 

"This award is such an honor," Coach Citty said. "I am so humbled to be able to represent this part of the state along side other distinguished coached who I have tried to emulate for years," she continued.

The two cheerleaders were chosen out of the region’s biggest and toughest cheer squads. Barnes and Dixon are both seniors at Stigler High School and will be competing at All-State on Nov. 20. 

“It’s the best season we’ve had,” Citty said. “We struggled at Region, getting third place, but we ended up getting third at State, which is a record high for Stigler. Our two seniors will definitely be missed.”
