Porum Police Department hosted a softball tournament at the Porum City ball fields on Sept. 15. “None of the funds we're raising are going to the department. It's like Toys for Tots, but we run Toys for PD,” Officer Jack Denny stated. “At Christmas, we'll load up a truck full of toys and stop by every house in Porum to make sure every kid gets a toy this holiday season.”

The softball games also offered an opportunity to three Porum children in the Muskogee county's 4-H Club. Kaytie Cash and Alaysia Barbee ran the concession stand, taking donations. The two of them and Ethan Shoemake will be taking an international trip later this year. “It's a week-long trip, we'll be going to France, Germany and Austria,” Barbee said. “It's really exciting. I can't wait.”
