Sheriff’s department receives grant from Choctaw Nation

An annual $5,000 grant from the Choctaw Nation will benefit Haskell County Sheriff’s Department.

“The funds will be used to help replace and purchase uniforms for the sheriff’s office,” said Haskell County Sheriff Tim Turner. The sheriff’s department has received the grant from the Choctaw Nation for the past several years, Turner added.

“It’s another way that the Choctaw Nation supports law enforcement and invests back into the community,” said Ron Perry, Choctaw Nation Council member, District 5. “We appreciate councilman Perry and the Choctaw Nation for the donation, Turner added.
