Safe Dates play: There’s no Excuse for Dating Abuse
The Stigler High School Speech 1 Class partnered with The KI BOIS Community Action Program and presented a play titled There’s no Excuse for Dating Abuse. The cast was made up mostly of sophomores, a junior and one senior. And each part was played by multiple people, as to emphasized that dating abuse can happen to anyone. The main character, Emily, was played by Merritt Price, Alexis Bird and Matti Webster. Emily’s abusive boyfriend, Jason, was played by Braden Drewry, Cole Highfill, Jagger Mantooth, Davin Asbury and Zane Oldham. The end of the play sees Emily calling a hotline to get support from Domestic Violence Program.
