Projects continue at Stigler’s airport

Eighteen new building sites are available for lease at Stigler Municipal Airport, according to City Manager Bobby Mouser.
The building sites are part of the city’s master plan for improvements and expansions at the airport. Mouser said that the city has received significant interest in the new sites.
The city also recently applied for two federal grants. One grant – for $746,000 – would provide funds for runway lighting. The other grant – for $432,300 – would provide funds for apron rehabilitation.
If the funds for the lighting are approved, it “will bring our current airport runway lighting system up to current standards,” Mouser said.
