One injured in two-vehicle collision

A Panama man was hospitalized following a collision that involved a vehicle leased by Haskell County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

About 11 a.m., on Wednesday, May 17, Michael Coble, 59, was driving a dump truck leased by Haskell County. He was traveling on state Highway 9, about a mile and a half west of Keota, according to the OHP report. Phillip Harris, 68, of Panama, was driving a pickup. Both vehicles were traveling east.

Harris was attempting to pass the county-leased vehicle and another non-involved vehicle. Coble turned left onto a private drive, and hit the vehicle driven by Harris, causing it to roll two times. Harris was ejected from the vehicle approximately three feet, the OHP report states.

Harrison was transported by Southwest EMS to a Fort Smith hospital. He was admitted in stable condition.

The OHP reported that seat belts were not in use in either vehicle.
