One dies in weekend collision

One person died in a two-vehicle collision on Saturday, Nov. 11, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

About 6:30 p.m., Miranda Harper, 20, of Enid, was driving a Chevrolet Impala on state Highway 9, three miles east of Stigler, at County Road North South 4495, an OHP report states.

Harper was traveling west, behind another vehicle, and she changed lanes to pass on a hill. Her vehicle was struck head on by a Dodge Ram, which was traveling east.

Harper was pronounced deceased at the scene by Pafford EMS.

Justin Moore, 21, of Stigler, was driving the Dodge Ram. Sierra Grant, 18, also of Stigler, was a passenger in the vehicle. They were transported to hospitals in Fort Smith and both were listed in stable condition with arm and leg injuries, the OHP report states.

The collision was investigated by trooper Daniel Eaton and Lt. Jon Huggins of the Haskell County detachment of Troop C.

They were assisted by Haskell County Sheriff's Department, Stigler Police Department, McCurtain Police Department, Keota first responders and Southside Fire Department.
