One charged with uttering forged instrument

Jerrod Dewayne Hunter of Checotah has been charged with uttering forged instrument in Haskell County District Court.
Hunter is accused of allegedly cashing three checks which belonged to another individual.
The checks were allegedly cashed for a total of $1,100 at a local store in August and September of 2022, court documents state.
The crime is a felony and is punishable by imprisonment in the state penitentiary for a term of not more than two years, or in the county jail for a term not to exceed one year, by a fine not to exceed $1,000 or by both such fine and imprisonment, according to court documents.
