Older Adults Most Need For COVID-19 Vaccine But Little Access or Information

Let's get real, Millions are struggling with obtaining COVID-19 vaccine information ESPECIALLY seniors as evolving technology and setting appointments via mobile apps are causing complications for this age group. Here is one startup that is stepping in to provide all information needed for seniors to get their COVID-19 vaccine.

WHOGetSetUp, an education startup where seniors  teach other seniors technology and enrichment classes, is offering live online Covid-19 vaccine information sessions to ensure older adults know where to go for information,  how to navigate their state or county’s process for scheduling a vaccine, how to download and use vaccine appointment mobile applications and have some of their questions answered along with assistance in getting an appointment set up.

WHAT: GetSetUp is working closely with local government agencies, nonprofits and GetSetUp local community members to help older adults get area specific, up to date information to get their COVID-19 vaccinations. Sessions are free 30-60 minute informational sessions where GetSetUp provides:

  1. Review local vaccine procedures and steps by county to county; state by state
  2. Provide walkthrough of agency website, forms, applications and mobile app downloads to secure an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine
  3. Demonstrate and assist on booking a COVID-19 vaccine appointment
  4. Answer any questions (i.e. Is the vaccine free? Can I sign up for someone else/help someone register for a waitlist or appointment? Can I go to the neighboring county? Can I get on multiple waitlists?)
  5. An open forum for seniors to share experiences and to discuss their concerns and questions.

WHY: Co-Founders of GetSetUp Neil D'Souza and Lawrence Kosick have always envisioned GetSetUp being a powerful platform assisting seniors with education, tools and technology to use in their Golden Years.  Both are passionate with their mission to go to whatever level it takes to educate seniors on getting access to the right information, being educated how to set up appointments via technology and arming them with all the tools to protect their health by getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

In addition, there has been overwhelming support from the community to assist GetSetUp to support each other and ensure everyone has access to vital vaccine information.  More than 40 individuals have signed up to volunteer to facilitate information sessions and share their own experiences with the vaccine process.

WHEN and WHERE: Right now and will continue until all seniors have access to COVID-19 vaccine. Visit www.getsetup.io/vaccine
