OHP Works to Complete Governor's Mission: Secure Oklahoma Schools

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol continues the valuable training started on July 11 as the first step toward complying with Governor Kevin Stitt's Executive Order, Mission: Secure Oklahoma Schools. The order directs all State Troopers to complete active shooter emergency response training by January 1, 2023.

By the end of October, more than 500 OHP personnel and approximately 100 other law enforcement across the state will have received this training. OHP is on track to meet the goal of having all troopers trained in Law Enforcement Active Shooter Emergency Response by the end of December. All troopers have already received some form of this training, but this latest effort is enhancing that training and equipping dozens of troopers to be designated trainers.
