OHP: One injured in collision

A Stigler man was injured in a one-vehicle collision on Monday, Dec. 26, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at 1:42 a.m. on state Highway 9, six miles west of Whitefield
Mathew Cowen, 19, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet and traveling west. His vehicle left the roadway on the right, struck a concrete culvert, then rolled one and a half times, coming to rest on its top. Cowen was ejected three feet from the vehicle.
Cowen was transported to a Fort Smith, Ark., hospital where he was admitted in critical condition.
The collision was investigated by trooper Charles Epley of the Haskell/McIntosh County detachment of Troop C. He was assisted by Haskell County Sheriff’s Office, Whitefield Fire Department and Pafford EMS, the report also states.
The collision remains under investigation.
