OHP: One injured in collision

One person was injured in a two-vehicle collision on Saturday, March 23, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at 4:48 p.m. on state Highway 9, two miles west of Stigler in Haskell County.
Aurelio Jiminez-Penagos, 24, of Huitiupan, Mexico, was driving a 2004 Mazda. He failed to yield to oncoming traffic and pulled out of private drive in front of a 2013 Dodge Durango, which was being driven by Angela Page, 36, of Stigler, according to the OHP report.
The Durango then struck the Mazda on the passenger side door, the report stated.
The driver of the Mazda was transported to a Fort Smith, Ark., hospital and was admitted in stable condition, the report stated.
The driver of the Durango refused treatment at the  scene. A juvenile in the Durango was not injured, the report also stated.
Seatbelts were in use in the Durango, but not in the Mazda, according to the report.
OHP Trooper Daniel Eaton of the Haskell County Detachment of Troop C investigated the collision. He was assisted by Haskell County Sheriff’s Department.
