OHP: One dies in collision

One man died in a collision near Stigler on Friday, July 12, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
He has been identified as Douglas Parkinson, 69, of Eufaula, an OHP report states.
The collision occurred about 1:40 p.m. on state Highway 9, 1.1 miles east of Crossroads Road, two miles east of Stigler, according to the OHP report.
A Buick Encore was traveling east and Parkinson’s Honda Goldwing was traveling west.
The Encore was slowing to make a left turn into a private drive and drove into the Goldwing’s lane, causing the two vehicles to collide, the OHP report states.
The driver of the Encore was not injured, the OHP report states.
The collision is under investigation.
