Merchants event, Halloween in Stigler - UPDATED

Merchants Trick or Treat in Stigler will be conducted 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29 this year, according to Stigler-Haskell County Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber’s board of directors chose to have Merchants Trick or Treat on Thursday, since Halloween is on Saturday, and the Stigler Panthers varsity football team will be playing an away game on Friday, explained Janice Williams, executive director of the chamber.

Stigler Chief of Police Richard Dickson encourages trick or treating to be conducted between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Halloween evening. Area residents who wish to receive trick or treaters are asked to leave their porch lights on. Trick or treating will not be approved at homes where porch lights are off.
