McCurtain resident dies in collision

One person died in a single-vehicle collision about 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Harley Mills, 18, of McCurtain was driving a 1998 Ford Expedition, on state Highway 31 approximately five and a half miles east of Kinta, the OHP report states.

The vehicle, which was westbound, departed the roadway to the right, according to the OHP report. The driver was ejected from the vehicle.

Mills was pronounced deceased at the scene. Seatbelts were not in use at the time of the collision, the OHP report states.

The collision was investigated by Trooper Charles Epley of the Haskell County Detachment of Troop C. He was assisted by Trooper Daniel Eaton, Trooper Dustin Jenson, Lt. Jon Huggins, Lequire Fire Department, Haskell County Sheriff’s Department, Pafford EMS and Air Care.
