Jury reaches verdicts
A Haskell County jury found a woman guilty of knowingly concealing stolen property and not guilty of a second-degree burglary charge, according to Haskell County District Court records.
The jury trial of Ashley Dawn Dees, 32, began on Tuesday, Feb. 5 and concluded the next day.
Charges were filed against Dees in connection to a home in Cartersville that burned and was completely destroyed in May 2016, court documents state. Items which were in the home before it burned were later found inside a nearby house, court records state. Those items included mattresses and box springs, a chair, dishes, curtains, light fixtures and hanging wall pictures.
Dees was sentenced to six months in the county jail, which was recommended by the jury, a district court official explained.
