Installation of AMI water meters to begin next week

Installation of Stigler’s AMI (advanced metering infrastructure) water meters will begin Monday, Oct. 21, according to City Manager Bobby Mouser.
The installation will be completed by Goins Enterprises and is scheduled to begin in the northwest portion of the city.
Employees of Goins Enterprises who are working on the installation of the new meters will be driving vehicles that have the company’s logo. The company’s employees will be wearing safety vests and have identification badges.
The city’s entire water meter system will be replaced with an automatic meter infrastructure. The new system will allow the city to remotely collect water meter data.
A large portion of the funds for the project are being provided by a water improvement grant from the Choctaw Nation, Mouser explained.
Individuals with questions or concerns regarding the individuals who are changing the meters may contact the City of Stigler at 918-967-2164.
