Hospital's March 1 payroll funds not received

Payroll funds for Haskell County Community Hospital employees were not deposited into their bank accounts on Friday, March 1 as scheduled, Don Buchanan, hospital CEO said.

This is the second consecutive time that hospital employees have not been paid.

HCCH employees are scheduled to be paid every other Friday, according to Buchanan. They were not paid on March 1, and still have not received payroll funds which were scheduled to be deposited into their bank accounts on Feb. 15.

The hospital is open and providing emergency room, X-ray and lab services; however patients are not being admitted.

Buchanan said on Wednesday, Feb. 27, that legal counsel with iHealthcare, Inc., the hospital’s management company, is working to get payroll funds released from a bank account. A judge has frozen the bank account which has funds for payroll, in connection with an unrelated lawsuit, Buchanan said.

The Feb. 1 payroll was delayed by a few days, and a December payroll was delayed one week.
