Hospital bid accepted, lease negotiations near completion

The bid for Haskell County Community Hospital has been accepted and approved in bankruptcy court, and negotiations regarding the lease of the building are near completion.

“We’re negotiating with Boa Vida (Healthcare) over a minor issue with the lease and expect to have it resolved as early as Monday (Feb. 3.),” said Bobby Mouser, Stigler city manager and spokesperson for the authority.

HCCH has been managed by Cohesive Healthcare Management & Consulting, LLC., under the direction of a bankruptcy trustee, since the management group that operated the hospital filed bankruptcy. HCCH was one of several hospitals that was affected when CAH Acquisition Company filed bankruptcy in March of 2019.

Michael Linscott, the attorney for the hospital authority, said earlier this week that he expects Boa Vida will be operating the hospital sometime in February.

A Jan. 31 meeting of the hospital authority was cancelled, since negotiations regarding the lease are not complete, Mouser said.
