Family of collision victim expresses thanks, provides update

The family of Chelcie Duvall reached out to the Stigler News-Sentinel to express their gratitude to many in the community who have offered support through messages, prayers and financial contributions.

Chelcie, a self-employed business owner, was involved in a very serious collision west of Stigler on Monday morning. She sustained multiple injuries including; broken legs, left arm, nose and left eye socket. She also sustained a concussion, cheek fractures and damage to her pelvic area. She has already been through several surgeries and doctors are planning more on Friday. Doctors have said Chelcie will probably in the hospital for several weeks.

“She has a hard recovery in front of her but we are so thankful she is alive. We are so very grateful to the quick response from the community who were on the scene and contacted the first responder and family. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Special prayers have been said for all,” her mother told the Stigler News-Sentinel.

Chelcie owns The Red Door Salon & Boutique in Warner and recently purchased the building where her cosmetology practice has been located for several years. Her 15-year-old son plays varsity football and basketball at Stigler, and Chelcie never misses a game. She recently received a bachelor’s degree in marketing and is enrolled in a master’s program at Southwestern University.

“Hundreds, if not thousands” of people have sent their well wishes and expressed their desire to help, her mother explained.
There are several ways to help the family financially, including through an account at 1st National Bank in Stigler and a Go Fund Me page.
