Event-filled weekend scheduled for Reunion Days

The 52nd annual Stigler Reunion Days will be held this weekend, and will include school reunions, music, food, contests for children and adults, a quilt show and a variety of vendor booths.The event will begin on Friday afternoon, June 14, as vendors set up their booths on the lawn of the Haskell County Courthouse and the quilt show is conducted on the first floor of the county building. Later that evening, a concert featuring gospel music will be conducted at the courthouse gazebo. Events are scheduled all day on Saturday, June 15, beginning with the VFW breakfast at 6 a.m., and followed by competitions at Roye Park; and events and contests on or near the courthouse lawn, including vendor booths, raffles, class reunions and the all-class reunion.

Reunion Days is organized each year by Stigler-Haskell County Chamber of Commerce for the City of Stigler.Janice Williams, executive director of the chamber, said there are several new vendor booths scheduled for this year’s event, and a wide variety of music is scheduled to be presented at the gazebo Friday and Saturday.The all-classes reunion dinner will be hosted by the Class of 1969 and will begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday at the VFW building.Alumni with many of the classes that are celebrating milestone anniversaries are also planning reunions. 

“The Chamber Board and I always look forward to Reunion Days,” said Williams. “We have some great vendors, great entertainment and fun for everyone. Our terrapin races will be less confusing this year because we have revised the age groups. We have also improved the area where the races will be held. Come join us.”
