Decision regarding HCCH's future delayed again

The future of Haskell County Community Hospital will not be decided before Jan. 16.
There has been another delay in the bankruptcy court proceedings regarding the bids for purchase of the hospital.
Haskell County-Stigler Hospital Authority members met with the authority’s attorney on Tuesday, Dec. 31.
Following the meeting, Bobby Mouser, Stigler city manager and spokesperson for the authority, told the Stigler News-Sentinel that there are currently two qualified bids for HCCH. However, there are objections to a part of the process and the awarding of the bid has been delayed again - until Jan. 16.
The objections are confidential and should be worked out by Jan. 16, he said.
The bankruptcy trustee will allow additional bids for the hospital to be submitted during this time, Mouser said.
The bankruptcy trustee first set a Dec. 12 bids deadline.  Bids received and accepted by Dec. 12 could be revised and resubmitted by Dec. 19. The deadline to receive bids for purchase of HCCH was extended after that time, and is now extended to Jan. 16.
HCCH has been managed by Cohesive Healthcare Management & Consulting, LLC., under the direction of a bankruptcy trustee, since the management group that operated the hospital filed bankruptcy several months ago. HCCH is one of several hospitals affected by the bankruptcy filings of CAH Acquisition Company, according to court documents.
The trustee is the operator of the hospital while it is in bankruptcy, however Haskell County-Stigler Hospital Authority II owns the physical hospital building and is being allowed to meet with potential buyers.
