County, state. U.S. candidates file for office

Two of the four Haskell County officials who have filed for office have opponents, according to the Haskell County Election Board.
Tim Turner is seeking reelection as the county’s sheriff. Turner is a Democrat. His opponent is Steven Fioretti, a Republican.
District 2 Commissioner Sandra Zachry is also seeking reelection. Her opponent is Larry Watson. Both candidates are Democrats.
Two other county candidates are unopposed in their bids for office
Tina Oaks was appointed to serve as Haskell County Court Clerk in January 2019. She is unopposed in her bid to serve her first full term as court clerk.
Karen McClary is unopposed in her bid to serve another term as Haskell County’s County Clerk.
Haskell County voters will have several other decisions to make this year, including choosing state congressional representatives, U.S. congressional representatives and U.S. president.
The Primary Election is scheduled for June 30. The Runoff Primary election is scheduled for Aug. 25. The General Election is scheduled for Nov. 3.
Voters in the Stigler Schools jurisdiction will cast their ballots for a school board member. Candidates are incumbent Jennifer Turner and Melissa Cross.
The school board election was scheduled for earlier this month, but was rescheduled to June 30 due to restrictions regarding the coronavirus pandemic.

Candidates who have filed for state offices include:

State Senator- District 7
Incumbent Larry Boggs, a Republican from Wilburton, is one of several candidates seeking the office. Other Republican candidates include Warren Hamilton of McCurtain and Kevin Woody of McAlester. Democrat candidates include Jerry L. Donathan of McAlester and Cathy Zukosky Thornton of Hartshorne.

State Representative- District 15
Incumbent Randy Randleman of Eufaula and Angie Brinlee of Porum are seeking the office. Both are Republicans.

Candidates who announced candidacies for U.S. Congress include:

U.S. Representative - District 2
Republican Markwayne Mullin of Muskogee is seeking reelection. Other candidates include Democrat Danyell Lanier of Hugo; other Republicans, Joseph Silk of Watson and Rhonda Hopkins of Rose; and Libertarian Richie Castaldo of Grove.

U.S. Senator
There are several candidates for U.S. Senator, including the incumbent Jim Inhofe, a Republican from Oklahoma City.
Other Republican candidates include JJ Stitt of Kingfisher, John Tompkins of Oklahoma City and Neil Mavis of Tulsa. Democrat candidates include Sheila Bilyeu of Flagstaff, Ariz.; Abby Broyles of Oklahoma City; Elysabeth Britt of Oklahoma City; and R.O. Joe Cassity Jr., of Ponca City. Other candidates are Robert Murphy, a Libertarian from Norman; and Joan Farr of Tulsa and A.D. Nesbit of Ada, both Independents.
