City preparing for two big events this weekend

City crews have been working diligently the past few weeks on numerous projects as Stigler prepares for the weekend events.
“We want it to look good, something we can be proud of,” said Supervisor Roger Edwards.
Employees are focusing mainly on the downtown area, where they are restriping the streets, painting the curbs and parking spaces, mowing grass, sweeping and whatever it takes to make the town look good, he said.
While city crews complete maintenance projects year round, they place a special emphasis on projects before Reunion Days. Edwards said team work is required to complete the projects and he appreciates the pride that city employees demonstrate.
Williams expressed the chamber’s appreciation. “I would like to thank Roger Edwards and the City of Stigler for all the work they have done this week to make Stigler beautiful,” she said.
