Christmas luncheon offered to community

Staff report
A free Christmas luncheon is being offered to the community on Friday, Dec. 23.
The free holiday meal will be served at First Assembly of God Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the menu will feature ham, chicken and dressing, vegetables and a variety of desserts.
In addition to great food, the luncheon will provide the opportunity to listen to Christmas carols and visit with friends.
Stigler First Assembly of God, Haskell County Coalition, Stigler News-Sentinel, KI BOIS Community Action, Stigler First Assembly of God, Whitefield Baptist Church and other area churches are working together to organize and offer the annual Haskell County Community Christmas Luncheon.
Last year’s Community Christmas Luncheon was well- received, explained Royce Alverson with KI BOIS. “From the great food prepared by representatives of area churches to the opportunity to visit with friends and make new friends, the luncheon provided the perfect opportunity to share the Christmas spirit with others.
Reservations for the meal are not required and it is being offered as a gift to the community, organizers explained.
