Chamber sponsoring Shop Stigler campaign, window display contest
The annual Shop Stigler campaign will once again offer local shoppers the chance to win cash, plus the opportunity to vote for a favorite holiday window display, explained Janice Williams, executive director of Stigler-Haskell County Chamber of Commerce.
Shop Stigler and the window display contest are both sponsored by the chamber.
The Shop Stigler campaign will begin Nov. 18. It offers local shoppers the chance to find unique gifts close to home, plus the chance to win one of three cash drawings.
Shoppers will receive one ticket for each $10 they purchase at a participating business.
Merchants will have signs posted, notifying shoppers they are participating in the campaign.
Shoppers have the chance to receive tickets through the close of business on Friday, Dec. 20.
Double tickets will be handed out on special days during the campaign.
Two tickets for every $10 purchased will be handed out on Nov. 30, which is Shop Small Business Day.
Shoppers making local purchases on a Tinsel Tuesday also will receive two tickets for every $10 they purchase. Dec. 3, 10 and 17 will each be designated as Tinsel Tuesday this year.
Half of each ticket will be presented to the shopper and the other half will be delivered to the chamber of commerce.
The tickets that merchants deliver to the chamber office by 7 p.m. Dec. 20 will be eligible for the drawings.
The cash drawings will be conducted at noon, Dec. 21, at the gazebo on the Haskell County Courthouse lawn.
Drawings for $250, $500 and $1,000 will be conducted. Shoppers must be present to win.
The Stigler Holiday Window Display Contest begins Dec. 2 and continues through Dec. 20.
Businesses are asked to decorate their front window/facade with a favorite holiday them.
Area residents may vote by taking a selfie in front of their favorite window, and emailing or texting the selfie to stiglerchamber@gmail.com or 918-724-1847.
Participating businesses are encouraged to take a picture of their window, put it on their Facebook page, invite friends to stroll through Stigler on Tinsel Tuesday and feast their eyes on all the beautiful window displays and vote for their favorite, Williams explained.
Voting will close at noon on Dec. 20. First, second and third place winners will be announced at noon during the Shop Stigler cash drawing on Dec. 21.
“Each year our Shop Stigler Committee strives to add to the events surrounding our Shop Stigler Campaign,” Williams explained.
“The committee felt that not only would a window display add to the festive look of the holidays; but by taking a selfie in front of your favorite window, the entire community could be involved. It is our way of giving back to the community.”
