Businesses, organizations, towns can benefit from Advantage

The executive director of the Stigler-Haskell County Chamber of Commerce is encouraging area businesses, organizations and towns to be included in this year's Advantage, Your Guide to Haskell County publication.

The publication, which is published annually by the Stigler News-Sentinel, with the valuable assistance of the Stigler-Haskell County Chamber of Commerce, highlights the advantages of the area, including the schools, businesses, government and community organizations and projects.

The 2019 Advantage will be published this spring and will be included in an issue of the Stigler News-Sentinel.

“The Advantage serves as a quality marketing tool for all of Haskell County,” explained Janice Williams, executive director of Stigler-Haskell County Chamber of Commerce. “ It is distributed out at all Oklahoma Southeast Economic Development events. It goes in all relocation packets. It is given to all newcomers to the community. It is also distributed to chambers of commerce in our area. I frequently get requests from individuals who are considering moving to Haskell County for information about the schools. It also serves as the chamber directory. The more business that advertise in the magazine, the better view the recipients of the magazine have of Haskell County. I encourage all towns within Haskell County to showcase their businesses, community or school in the magazine.” 

A portion of the publication's advertising sales will benefit an area graduating senior. The “Advantage Scholarship” is presented annually in memory of Linus T. Williams, former publisher of the Stigler News-Sentinel, in recognition of his work in establishing the Stigler Chamber of Commerce. Area graduating high school seniors may receive information about the scholarship by contacting their school counselors.
