Bid for local hospital accepted

A bidder for Haskell County Community Hospital has been chosen, according to the attorney for Haskell County-Stigler Hospital Authority II.
The attorney, Michael Linscott, made that announcement during a meeting of the hospital authority on Monday, Jan. 27.
Boa Vida Healthcare of Crown Point, Ind., was the sole bidder in the final bidding process, and the company’s bid was accepted in bankruptcy court, according to Linscott.
HCCH has been manged by Cohesive Healthcare Management & Consulting, LLC., under the direction of a bankruptcy trustee, since the management group that operated the hospital filed bankruptcy almost a year ago.
A hearing will be conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 29, and a closing date will be set. The purchase will be completed and Boa Vida will be the new owners of the hospital sometime in February, according to Linscott.

Publisher’s Note: Additional information regarding the purchase of HCCH will be published in this week’s paper and posted on the website.
The Jan. 27 meeting of the hospital authority was recorded and the video will be posted on the Stigler News-Sentinel website, www.stiglernews.com, this week.
