Announcement guidelines for candidates seeking public office
Candidates for public office are encouraged to submit a candidacy announcement story, along with a photo to the Stigler News-Sentinel.
One candidacy announcement will be published free of charge for each candidate.
Each candidate is asked to submit the announcement and photo to: publishing @stiglernews.com.
Each school board candidate must submit an announcement and photo by Feb. 28. There will only be one school board election this year. It will be for Stigler School Board and will be conducted on April 7. All other candidates for school boards in the county are unopposed.
Each candidate for federal, state, legislative and county offices must submit an announcement and photo within one week (seven days) of the conclusion of the state election board’s candidate filing period, April 8-10. The primary election for these offices will be June 30.
Each candidacy announcement must be 500 words or less.
Each candidate must submit contact information. A representative of the Stigler News-Sentinel will need to speak to each candidate and confirm the information before it will be published.
The announcement will published as space allows.
