Advantage advertising, scholarship deadlines near
Deadlines to be included in a publication which highlights Haskell County’s advantages and to apply for a scholarship are near.
The Stigler News-Sentinel, in partnership with the Stigler-Haskell County Chamber of Commerce, publishes Advantage, Your Go-To-Guide to Haskell County each year.
The annual magazine is inserted in an issue of the Stigler News-Sentinel, distributed to area businesses and organizations, and presented to prospective area residents and business owners.
The publication provides a great opportunity for businesses and organizations to reach a wide audience.
This year’s Advantage will be published in a few weeks, and the deadline to purchase advertising space is Friday, Feb. 21.
In addition to providing a great opportunity to showcase a business or organization, Advantage benefits a graduating senior each year. A portion of the proceeds from Advantage annually fund the Advantage Scholarship.
The scholarship is presented in recognition of Linus T. Williams, the first publisher of the Stigler News-Sentinel, for his work in establishing the Stigler Chamber of Commerce.
“Graduating high school seniors in the Stigler News-Sentinel coverage area who are planning to attend college or trade school are encouraged to apply for the 2020 Advantage Scholarship. Applications are available in school counselors’ offices,” said Summer Long, the newspaper’s publisher/advertising manager.
Scholarship applications must be delivered to the Stigler News-Sentinel office by April 30. The scholarship will be awarded in May.
“Advantage offers area businesses and organizations a great opportunity to reach area residents, and prospective residents and business owners; and to help a graduating senior who is preparing for the future,” Long said.
