31st annual HWY 9 Rod and Custom Fest a huge success

Submitted report

The Stigler Haskell County Chamber of Commerce declares the 31st annual HWY 9 Rod and Custom Fest a huge success. With the perfect weather, the car show drew 66 vehicles from Midwest City to Jonesboro, Ark. into the Stigler Health & Wellness Center parking lot.

Janice Williams, Executive Director of the Chamber, acknowledged that the success of the HWY 9 Rod & Custom Fest was dependent on local businesses and their employees providing not only financial support, but volunteers as well. See the thank you ad in this week’s issue of the Stigler News-Sentinel for a list of sponsors.

In addition to the sponsors, the arts and crafts booths, food vendors, KIDZ Zone volunteers and the City of Stigler crew are vital to creating an event to remember. “I really appreciate Oldham Home Care, T-Set Healthy Living Project, Cub Scouts #722, Stigler Printing, Inc., Stigler 4-H and SHS Cheer Leaders for sponsoring the KIDZ Zone. It made for a fun event for the whole family,” said Williams.

Live entertainment by Shayla Coplen, The Destination and the Stigler High School band rounded out the day with Jerry Stevens running the sound system and Rock and Sue Humphrey providing the “stage.”

The Chamber and the City of Stigler appreciate all the local citizens who attended the HWY 9 Rod and Custom Fest. “We hope you are supporting our local business that are so generous to support the Chamber events and various other fundraising activities in our community. Shop Stigler,” said Williams.
