Suspected robbers jailed
Also accused of shooting at police during chase

Aug. 27 — Two teens accused of robbing a Haskell County convenience store at gunpoint and shooting at a police officer are cooling their heels in jail, charged with crimes in one county and waiting for charges in another.
Cody Lee Allen Beers, 18, McAlester, and Steven Sebastian Ools, 18, Crowder, are each being held in the Pittsburg County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond. And, if they make bond in that county, they'll still have Haskell County troubles to deal with.
Beers is charged in Pittsburg County with discharging a weapon from a vehicle, a felony punishable upon conviction by imprisonment for two years to life, as well as two counts of larceny of an automobile. The latter charge is a felony punishable by imprisonment for three to 20 years, a fine equal to three times the value of the property, or both fines and imprisonment.
Ools is charged with felony counts of discharging a weapon from a vehicle and larceny of an automobile, as well as a misdemeanor count of eluding an officer.
No charges had been filed in Haskell County as of Aug. 25.
The pair allegedly stole a Ford F-350 from Canadian, then fired shots at Quinton Police Chief John Barbee as he pursued the truck on state Highway 31. Ools allegedly gave up when Barbee eventually cornered the truck, but Beers is alleged to have taken to the woods, making his way to a rural home where he allegedly stole a Volvo SUV in an attempt to escape police.
The two are also suspected of robbing the EZ Mart in Kinta at gunpoint between the time the truck was stolen and the time they were arrested.
