Another award winning yearbook is the proud accomplishment of the 2010-2011 Stigler High School yearbook staff, made up of just four students; Tori Holt, Bailey Blanchett, Morgan Palmer and Alexis Huckbay, and their advisor Mitchell Bird.
The yearbook won 25 awards at the Fall Media Monday awards hosted by Oklahoma Scholastic Media Nov. 14 at the University of Oklahoma, Norman campus.
Offered in yellow or red, the yearbook cover depicted a spiral notebook with doodles scrawled all over, reminiscent of what students sometimes do. The back of the yearbook features the doodle "82 + 8 = District Champs," the numbers being the football jersey numbers of Zach Honeycutt and Jarret Radford, who "wrote (the doodle) on whiteboards all over the school," Holt said. The cover design was Holt's idea, and took second place at the awards. She has already designed the cover for the 2011-2012 yearbook. (more on this story in this week's Stigler News Sentinel)

If you haven't started working on your Christmas parade float, you need to do it now, because the parade season is officially here.
The first local Christmas parade this year will be held at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 26, which is, for those who might not realize it, this Saturday in Porum. The parade theme is Red, White and Blue.
Anyone interested in participating in the parade can call Mona Lisa Varnell at 918-484-2177.
December 3 is the big day in Stigler, when parade participants take part in an event themed "Christmas Around the World."(more on this story in this week's Stigler News Sentinel)
