JamFest? 'Keep it going'

Musicians gather around a propane lantern during the second Haskell County JamFest on Sept. 23. The all-acoustic event provided an opportunity for musicians from Stigler, Talihina, Tamaha, Blocker, Pocola, Kinta and other areas.

There weren't as many players this year as last; not as much media buzz, not as much music.
But those who attended the Haskell County JamFest at Lake John Wells urged: "Keep it going."
"I hadn't seen it in the papers, but I looked forward to it all year," said Joe Sport, of Roland. "Last year I saw it in the Fort Smith paper. This year, I got a letter, and I'm sure glad I did."
Spiro residents James Morgan and Ronnie Edwards said they, too, were glad to see a friend receive a letter. After all, they said, they hadn't seen anything about the event anywhere else. "I wouldn't miss it," Morgan said.(more on this story in this week's Stigler News Sentinel)
